Although there are worker protections in the workers’ compensation system many of these are buried in complex rules and procedures.  Over the years, we have advised many injured workers about how the law applies to their particular workers’ compensation case.

Workers’ Compensation 

 

The workers’ compensation system provides benefits to help employees with any injury, illness or disease caused or aggravated as a direct result of their work. Almost all employees in California are covered by the workers’ compensation system with few exceptions such as casual employees and independent contractors.

 

If you have been injured on the job, the law provides a limited number of benefits such as medical treatment and related costs, temporary disability, permanent disability, and supplemental job displacement. These benefits are intended to provide you with the medical treatment you need to recover, partially replace the wages you lose while you were recovering, and help you return to work.
